Off to Tampa we go!
Twins have played great the last three series! Lots of hits and great starting pitching! Looks like we got a good closer with Capps, glad we didn't give away the farm to rent a pitcher.
So the guys have done what they needed to against pretty bad teams and now they face an actual contender! Hopefully they will continue to play well and keep the naysayers at bay! I really am not worried about the Tigers any more and feel confident that the Sox will implode thanks to their Manager. We have the best record within the division against teams in our division and I expect that to continue.
Moryes should be back in the middle of August and maybe this time off will help him have a strong finish to the season unlike past years! Love how Repko has played as well as Danny V! Have to feel good when the guys you call up shine! So many positives for this team!!
Bring on the Rays! Let's slow their roll a little but not so much that they don't beat up the Yankees!

ReplyDeleteThe Twins did what needed to be done over the last three series. Now the test is on. The need to stay on the roll in Tampa. I feel really good about the bullpen right now. A very good deal to pick up Capps. Del the Man has been great in the cleanup spot I hope they keep him in there for a while. What's up with Span? Is he playing with his head on? Is Repko making him nervous? I love that Alexi is playing great.
I think we have an advantage having Carl starting tonight. If he can go 7 or more innings and we get the win the series is ours.
I disagree with your comment about Ozzie. I think again he's saying things that are not just important for baseball but for his team. Advocating for the least is very important. They've been playing great and his attitude is a large part of their success.
I think a key for us in August is how well the M&M boys come back. Mauer needs to take the lead with aggressiveness and Moryes has to take the cleanup spot back. Yes Del the Man should be in the five spot. But if Moryes can't carry the cleanup it may rattle others confidence.
I can't wait to get back and watch the team again. Keep 'em winning until then.

I do think Repko should put a little fire under Denards *ss! He really has done great roaming the outfield! I would love it is they kept Alexi in even after O-Dog is healed up he is our future and so far he is staying pretty focused!
I actually wasn't refering to Ozzies recent statement regarding the favoritism of Asian over Latin players(Tori Hunter might have more to add to that rant not nesscessarily on Oz's side)though I do question the wisdom of bringing that up in the middle of a hot pennent race. Rather I am anticipating the Sox struggles in the next two months playing Twins and Detroit 3 times each as well as Boston twice and the Yankees and how it is likely Ozzie will share his fustrations with his team in a public forum. I am just not a fan of his methods!
